A safe, sensitive, and supportive digital space for survivors of conflict-related gender-based violence.
Fuskanta is a safe, sensitive, and supportive digital space where survivors of conflict-related gender-based violence (GBV) can share their stories.
Through Fuskanta, we aim to foster healing and contribute to transitional justice by offering survivors a space to tell their truths in their own words, thereby breaking the cycle of silence and stigma often associated with gender-based violence.
Interactions on Fuskanta are guided by trauma-informed principles, especially privacy, agency, respect, and dignity. Survivors can share without fear of judgment, exposure, or retaliation, as the platform is protected by strict standards of confidentiality and data security.
The word fuskanta is a Hausa term that means to face, encounter, or experience something directly. Put simply, fuskanta is a personal and direct encounter.
Fuskanta is developed by Invictus Africa with funding support from the Initiative for Transitional Justice in Africa (ITJA), through the Africa Transitional Justice Legacy Fund (ATJLF).
