Olayemi Popoola trained as an Electrical/Electronic Engineer with specialty in Systems and Controls at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria. He attended Lagos Business School (Owner Manager Program) and Harvard Business School (Disruptive Innovation).
He started out his career as an ICT engineer working with Tritech Computers and later Tehila Communications. From ICT, Olayemi ventured into mainstream telecoms engineering in May 2006 when he teamed up with a crop of professionals to form Satoriz Group whose mission was mainly to provide infrastructure support to upstream Telecommunication value chain. Olayemi is now the Group CEO of Reliance Infosystems Group with business footprints in Nigeria, Canada, Ghana, UK, Kenya, United State, Pakistan, Botswana, and Egypt.
Olayemi has deep interest in helping societies, businesses, and governments to reinvent and create sustainable path to prosperity. He sits on the boards of Cloudware (Ghana), LC Engineering, Hytorc West Africa, and Ejatutu Innovation Company Limited. He is a staunch advocate of the Job-To-Be-Done Theory.
